The Moment We’ve Been Building Toward

The Forward Party may be on the verge of an independent governing fulcrum in the Senate.

For years, we’ve talked about what it would mean to have independent voices holding the balance of power in Congress. Now, with Todd Achilles in Idaho and Brian Bengs in South Dakota running competitive, one-on-one Senate races, we’re seeing that possibility take shape in real time.

Recent polling has Achilles within four points of Senator Jim Risch, while Bengs and Senator Mike Rounds are tied at 44% in South Dakota. South Dakota is getting plenty of attention for other reasons too, following recent reporting about Rounds’ senior advisor simultaneously working as a lobbyist for corporate clients including Meta.

Todd and Brian recently joined former Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey on Boston Public Radio to talk about their campaigns and the independent opportunity.

Forward March ’26: Rapid City, South Dakota Canvassing Opportunity

It’s time to hit the pavement in Rapid City!

Our affiliate partner, Moving America Forward, will be canvassing to connect with independent voters. Join them and get out into your community to have real conversations about real solutions. Whether your first time canvassing or you’re a seasoned veteran, all experience levels are needed! Training and materials will be provided.

There will be a morning deployment from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and an afternoon deployment from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM.

Additionally, Moving America Forward will be hosting a multi-partner coalition dinner (5:30 PM – 8:00 PM) for participating volunteers and partner organizations, featuring special guest speaker and U.S. Senate candidate Brian Bengs.
