The Color Purple and Independents Are Not a COLOR

We get so tied up in thinking about the left, the right, Woke vs. MAGA, that we forget what reality is. Instead of black and white, we see everything as Red or Blue.

Those are colors that represent two ideologies we labeled as Liberal and Conservative. Then someone said, “Wait, I’m neither. I’m independent. I’m a moderate. So I must be Purple.”

Correct?

Well, yes and no, because Purple is not a hue or a color. It only appears that way if you stand far enough back that the blend looks like a shift in hues.

What it really is, is a Conservative who has a few Liberal views and a Liberal who has a few Conservative views. Exactly like almost all of us have.

The difference between us is which side we started on and where our crossovers are located.

One person may have the Conservative view of smaller government and yet support the idea of universal healthcare. This doesn’t make the Red-labeled Republican a RINO. It makes him an individual.

The same can be said for a Liberal or Democrat who has strong right-to-life beliefs.

So stop with the all-or-nothing labels. They are destructive to this country as a whole, and destructive to us as individuals.

Also:

I have added a link to Elections Simplified to “The Other Menu.” It allows you to look up the voting records of public officials.

Don’t just rely on their campaign-speech rhetoric. They may say one thing and vote the complete opposite.
