Matthew McConaughey Said It Out Loud

This weekend, Matthew McConaughey posted a video making the case for independents. One line stuck with us:

“Independents aren’t middle of the road. Independent is the original road. Before there was ever a Republican or Democrat, there was an American.” Yes! 🇺🇸💜

Within hours, he was getting hammered online from both sides, with critics calling an independent vote too risky, a spoiler, or a waste.

Here’s the thing we all know: a record 45% of Americans call themselves independent. This is far more than those who identify with either major party. Yet the moment someone says it out loud, both sides pile on.
