Local vs. National – Vote accordingly.

Local vs. National

And the two are not the same. This is a distinction going into the midterms that needs to be talked about and clarified.

I’ll lay my cards on the table. I am against the Trump regime. It has to be stopped. It is not only dangerous, but it is destroying our country to the point that recovery is becoming questionable, in my opinion.

There, that said, rant over.

Now, back to local vs. national.

I live in a blue state, and I am unhappy with the direction our blue governor has taken us. I am going to vote for a Republican for governor, but that is at the state level, not the federal level. Right now, I wouldn’t vote for a Republican federal dog catcher.

You see, here’s the difference. It’s my backyard, my cities and highways, my local farms, fisheries, and timber industry. See, I live in Oregon, and I’m tired of the state’s priorities being based on the desires of Eugene — home of the University of Oregon — Corvallis — home of Oregon State University — and Portland, land of the homeless. (Those descriptions are mine and mine alone.)

So, I think a fresh take is in order. The Republican candidate is local, born local, raised local, and educated local. I think she will be able to balance the needs of our entire state, not just Portland and the Silicon Forest.

So, vote for your community and your state’s needs. Local government is NOT national government.

We can balance both. National politics and state politics may look like the same thing, but they are really two different carts.

Vote accordingly.
