Surprising, two red states, Republican governors and candidates with different values. Take Wyoming and Maine. Opposite sides of the country, Wyoming, the strongest Trump supporter in the 2024 Election in the nation, They voted Trump 72.3% and Harris 26.1%
Maine, Harris won, 52.4 % to Trump’s 45.5% yet when we look at what is coming up for the midterms. Something strange happened.
Earlier, Trump administration officials have stated that they intend to send up to 1,000 election monitors to the polls this fall. In Fact 2 election monitors were sent as part of a “monitoring initiative aimed at promoting transparency,” to Wyoming for the States August 18 primary elections.
And…. their behavior managed to upset even Republican Gov. Mark Gordon of Wyoming.
Gordon said “I feel very strongly about the federal government coming in and taking our guns. I don’t like that. I don’t like the federal government coming in and taking our votes, either,” Gordon said they were not made aware the monitors would be present and did not present credentials until requested to do so.
They then proceeded to ask questions “outside the scope of federal voting rights laws …about the nature, length, and timing of poll worker training. Monitors requested training guides, asked how our new election equipment was acquired, and wanted to examine our tabulators.”
Governor Gordon has asked the State AG to look into the matter.
Maine on the other hand., or at least Maine Republican gubernatorial nominee Bobby Charles told members of a Young Republican Club earlier that he intends to call his “friend” Tom Homan, Trump’s deportation czar, to ask for ICE presence at the polls.
